Supporting the Cape and Islands LGBTQ Community

The 2012 GALE Fund Spring Fling was held
on May 3rd at the Sea View in Dennis Port and was attended
by 79 people.  We awarded $12,000 in grants to nine groups
for diverse projects which are listed under the Grants page.  With the help
of our marvelous auctioneer Kathy Kingston and generous donors,
$12,000 was raised for next year's grants program,
including $3,480 earmarked for LGBTQ resource materials to be placed
in Middle School libraries on the Cape and Islands.  This project was conceived in emulation of a 2012 Grant made to Nauset Regional Middle School, initiated by an 8th grader to address the emotional pressures on teens, families and school staff around emerging sexual identity and orientation issues.

Special thanks to guest auctioneer Monica Jalbert
for her sterling success in auctioning a table centerpiece for $110!

Corporate Sponsors included Cape Cod 5, Jane Bourette of Drake Saunders and Diwinsky, Lady Brett's Flowers and The Corsair and Cross Rip Oceanfront Resorts.

The mission of the GALE Fund is to provide funding and support for
initiatives that address the unmet needs of lesbians, gay men, bisexual people and the transgender community of Cape Cod. Our purpose is quite simple - to raise money and distribute funds to grassroots programs and established organizations whose efforts will help make life richer, safer and more diverse for all residents of Cape Cod and the Islands.
